PM's Kill team: Thousand Sons - Rubrics and NOT Scarab Occult terminators

 I decided to get some paint down on some Thousand Sons Chaos Marines after a bit of a break from the hobby.
I have both the "Commanders" supplement as well as "Elites" and decided to do an Exalted Sorcerer and some Scarab Occult Terminators. I still have some spare Rubrics to paint up as well as some Tzaangors which I should  be able to start on soon.

I was going to field the "Official" Scarab Occult Terminators but couldn't resist the "Egypt Sons" from Wargames Exclusive.

NOT Scarab Occult Terminators


When I've completed the rest of the Rubrics and the Tzaangors I'll get stuck into my Deathwatch.......

Thanks gents, I really enjoyed doing these.
I have  to agree about the Wargames Exclusive sculpts. They are excellent castings with tonnes of details.
I will have a look at the rest over the weekend, although the Deathwatch are calling to me to be painted......

Beautifully done! I’ve got a small pile of neglected Thousand Sons on the (ever growing) to do list of shame. The red on the sorcerer is fab, what was the recipe?

It's Tamiya clear red over silver. I painted the area silver, washed with dark ink ( Dark tone from "warpaints" or Nuln Oil from GW) and let it dry. Highlighted it with silver and once that's dry used a single coat of Tamiya clear red. I used the same method for my Chaos Dwarfs.
Be aware that Tamiya clear red is pretty toxic ( no paintbrushes in your mouth!). I'm waiting for GW contrast paints as they apparently work well over metallics and might be a less toxic alternative.
