Seminole War Builds: Chickees, block house, fort, et al
« on: July 06, 2022, 08:57:45 PM »
Since I'm doing a  late 19th century Sebastian inlet game (TSATF innsmouth thing), I figure might as well get that 3nd Seminole War project going.

Kinda a practice attempt at a lower blockhead building and HQ, carved outta balsa wood.  Not bad, I like the wood detail and imperfect style.

Also, tried two chickee huts (real quick builds).  Looking at towel roof and fur roof for palm thatching, don't know yet, thinking fur is better?

Also a sample of the Florida scrub terrain.

These look great! I particularly like the chickee huts. And the water in the background looks inviting. When do the LAFers get an invite for a poolside game...?  lol

Thanks!  And, lol, Mary and I are already working on  a pool wargame table.      A 16 foot table would lay over the water on pool edges, in shallow area.  Would need waterproof terrain and figs.  Maybe 1/72 plastics, lol.

BTW, the water was 92 degrees today.  110 in jacuzzi. :0

Really nice work on the buildings - and dulling down the greenery (plastic?) to be more realistic.

Now, as to a game in the pool, that could be fun.  Our pool can get to 93 here in the Sacramento area in a hot summer - but not very enjoyable at that temperature, 88 is a lot more comfortable and cooling, especially when it is 105+ outside.  Of course, except rarely, we don't get that intense Florida humidity.  Anything above 84 and it is really easy to get into the pool all the way.
