Looking awesome!

What techniques did you use to colour and shape the fur?

The roof is MDF underneath. The fur was added with white PVA glue. Then added white glue on the outside of the fur and soaked it with water using an old brush (about 1,5 cm flat brush) and worked the way down on the roof adding glue and water as I progressed.  Let it all dry for 2-3 days and then painted it brown and dry brushed with lighter colours. Added watered down green wash at the end in the sunken parts.

Those roofs are amazing :)

I'm looking to do some similar roofs and I've found that "teddy bear fur" isnt just teddy bear fur, there are different lengths of fur... got a link to where you bought yours?

The fur is from a craft store here in Denmark. A couple of years back. Sold by the meter.

I do not know the maker, but the "fur" is about 2 cm long.

Supre useful! Thank you. I have one or two teddy bear thatched cottages that need a bit of work. Because they look a bit too much like Boris Johnson/Trumpian hairdos than properly dark ages.

Thank you kindly, the lenght of the fur should be enough to go by. I'll find some in danish craftstore when I get around to building houses.
