Big update before the long weekend! First up, the Cargo ship "Murse Envy" is printed up in 15mm scale. The fleet scale version can be seen above it for comparison.

Perhaps a better angle:

Closeup of the bridge with crew:

Cargo hold:

Hangar bay (newly printed toilet insert in the background):

And the engine room:

I didn't have as much time to play around with my tiles as I would have liked (damn you, adult responsibilities!) but after making this ship I still had more than a dozen leftover tiles. This is roughly 28" long and maybe 10" wide at the widest point.

Speaking of fleet scale stuff. I used some old foam to make a carrying case for my creations. I should have another 6-7 bases ready by next week.

The Walrus is almost done getting painted up and it now joins my Tug in the Mining Corporation (MinCo) fleet.

Tomorrow I'll toss up some recently finished sculpts, and that will be it until after the long weekend!

Very  impressive indeed, especially the window lighting effects.  Mine never quite come out right...

I copied Ockman's original paint job from the Peregrine build. It wasn't my style until that point and since then it has grown on me quite a bit. If nothing else it is quick!

Some non-printed addition to my project. These are the next three sculpts to come off of my table. From left to right: Taur, the four-legged alien in power armor; Friday, the first of my law enforcers; and Enri, a junior officer for my starship crew.

So my evil empire needed some ships, and I had this weird bit of inspiration. This is the first fighter for the evil empire.

Seen from above:

Seemed appropriately "evil."  :D It also made the basis for a number of other ship options, like this basic shuttle.

The engine side of things. This will be the basis for some new starship design elements as well.

So I'll get an evil empire engine room worked up shortly, and then I just need to figure out how to translate the "hand" motif to a full bridge. It might be two hands side by side? Any thoughts from the audience? I believe the shuttle measures 90mm-ish across. A starship tile is typically 100mm across, so it might be easy to scale it to just work as-is.

Two more ships in 15mm and fleet scale for comparison. The first up is the Scarab class ship. This is most likely seen in the service of pirates, smugglers, and fired guns. It sports an array of anti-ship torpedoes and point defense lasers, which gives it equal effectiveness against smaller and larger craft.

Top view:

Where the Scarab class is an all-purpose ship for those with an entrepreneurial spirit and flexible morals, the War Eagle is a small patrol craft most often operated by local governments and large corporate interests. The primary mission is the safety and security of shipping lanes and system assets.

Top view:

The War Eagle incorporates a couple of new items. First, the G-1 light rail gun:

This weapon sits on the same dual pegs that the torpedo tubes sit on. Eventually, I'd like to make something like a laser battery for ship-to-ship engagements, and maybe some mining equipment for upcoming mining company ships. Asteroid grabbing claws or something similar.

The other addition is just this simple solution to add some more engines to various ships. While engine nacelles are one solution, these engines just stick on with a bit of blue stuff tack. No need to glue them down. The interior and exterior can just sit on a suitably sized wall and create engines without a dedicated engine room. It is just a bit of added flair.

That last configuration looks a lot like Worf’s Defiant.

I suppose it does a bit. Not nearly as organic.  lol

Thanks, Monkey. I'm pretty sure that everything on the table was 99% designed by my own hand. Anything not of my design will probably be phased out entirely over the next several months.

After some hand wringing, I decided I would start making my design work available for free on Thingiverse. The link should be found in my signature block. After much consideration regarding the value of monetizing my efforts, I decided that the best way to keep my hobby time fun is to share freely and not focus on making it a business, even if I expected little more than beer and pizza money anyway.

So, enjoy! And if you print something up, please share your work. I'm very curious where these ideas go after they leave my head.

While I had all my ship tiles out, I knocked up some alternative ship layouts:

The Mater Aquilae:

In fleet scale, you can see the size difference between this and the War Eagle.

Another Shipping Guild craft:

This measures 28" long and 16" wide.

This will be the starship for my mob boss, Mr. T. I'm going to work on making some nightclub-style terrain bits like stages, bars, booth seating, etc. An upscale establishment for travels between worlds to check up on businesses not paying their protection money.

Here are all the tile pieces printed so far. The four across the front are all still getting their war paint.

Lastly, another shipping guild vessel. A sister ship to the Murse Envy, this is the Weary Portmanteau (left).
