Nice work Cook.
Might I also suggest Dave Graffam's superb starport artwork?

Seeing the figure on one is great, it gives the idea of the size which shows that they are a rather good size.

They are nice and chunky, and the size fits onto my town tile spaces. That was really how I came up with the sizing. My town tiles are built around 4" grids (12"x12" tiles with 4" road/sidewalks and 4" ground space for buildings).

I need to make more of the 12x12 tiles myself, I have an idea, I have been using the same method of tile making as well. My idea is to use a bead of glue as to where the edges of the road would be and then use a fine sand to cover the glue then paint everything in soil colors. I am hoping this would give a hint to being that of dirt roads. I could use a very fine terrain ground covering turf of greens that I could use for forest or farm areas or use browns for more of a desert look.

I like the look of static grass if one is using 28mm, however for using 15mm figures turf covering I feel that it works better and still gives you that look your looking for in your terrain.

These tiles I am looking at to get done will also match up with the city tiles I already have. I am hoping that this idea will lead to me being able to do paved road as well.

Some shipping containers! These are a little worse for the wear, but so long as they keep the goods inside from floating around in the void of space that doesn't matter too much.

And a little scene showing some MinCo employees working with the flatbed hauler bot and the landing pad to prep for the arrival of a lifter ship.

Speaking of which, I've been working on the design of a lifter vessel that would haul these containers. I'm not set on the design other than the container securing arms.

If this is a MinCo vessel, then I need to retool the cockpit area to match their standard design. Not hard to fix. If this is a private merchant contracted to haul MinCo goods, then the cockpit can probably stay as it is with a bit of rework.

I'll probably double up on the engines as well. Add a row below the aft end to match those above.

That looks really great! a couple more and a lot of shipping containers with ground haulers and you would have a really great looking shipping yard. Maybe you could make one or two landers without shipping containers, they could be set aside for maintenance reasons.

Maybe, one day. In a perfect world, yes I could set up a whole shipping yard, though I think that both violates the idea of this being a sleepy little undeveloped planet on the edge of the frontier, and violates what my wife is willing to tolerate in terms of my hobby taking up room in the house lol

For now, I'm just trying to have enough going on to make my sleepy little colony. It has been crawling along slowly, and I'm hoping to print my next mobile building in the coming 1-2 weeks.

A very nice model Cook. Well done..
I think the design can be easily converted to a military one also. Would be great for 6 - 10mm with a the addition of struts, bottom ramp & smaller windows.

Thanks for sharing

Really like the weathering on those containers. The stark lines and block colours work really well brought together. Appeals to my fondness for cartoons!

Ah... I think that probably describes the origin of my entire vision for this project. It certainly isn't based in reality, but perhaps old Saturday morning cartoons. He-Man and GI Joe were full of colorful characters on both sides. GI Joe certainly didn't have any standard uniform code to adhere to.  lol

I think the caricaturish nature of the sculpts and general choice of colours remind me more of Calvin's daydreams:

Any plans to print and sell this vessel, even if as a limited run?  Thanks.
