I'm glad somebody likes the way this is going lol

It occurred to me that the armoured horse's from the board game came to three and I'd one spare knight (plus a raid from the bit box came up with another armoured horse.so technically four.)
Weren't really enough four a reasonable unit.(although I do have a four figure Marauder cavalry unit for the army standard to paint.)
So after nearly fainting at the ebay price's for a single knight .I ended up with a bag full of second hand premade pre painted and re under coated knights so I'll be at it a while longer.

I've chucked some paint at five to get a feel for speed painting the rest.(four were already based.)
I think the colour scheme is going to hold up across the whole army reasonably well.

I've not had much time for this project. However I have managed to go back and add a small banner on the Pegasus. As it didn't quite fit once I'd seen the previous photographs.

goodness me that banner is superb - is that  free-hand?

for 'speed painting', I think the cavalry look great - I'd be v/ happy with them as 'proper painting' tbh.

I'm glad you like the banners ,Yes is the answer I don't use pre made one's(not that there's anything wrong with them other than I can't afford them   :D )
If your intrested I'll take a couple of progress pictures when I do the Army standard. As it'll be a bit fancy by comparison .
That said I've. To figure out the back banner for old Karl Fritz. As I might as well have the Emperor since this ally force for my dwarves is rapidly heading towards the point I'll be able to use dwarves as the allies for them instead .
As the Emperor is mounted on a Griffin thats in a very similar pose to the Pegasus . Its going to get reworked into an 'in flight' Griffin. So they don't look to similar from a distance.(If I'm honest I've painted a fair few of this model over the years for people. So I want mine to look different from all the others I've thrown paint at.)

I've been a little busy with my home front thread making builds and chucking paint at everything in sight. So I've only managed to fit in the test unit of archers(crashing through them at speed I totally missed the flash on the bow hands and a few legs .Started removing flash one night and managed to convince my self the next day I'd finished and sprayed them black )
Now they're all done and frosting over nicely so I'll have to re varnish at some point. ::) should have waited until it was a little warmer this morning but never mind is an easy fix.

archers look great with those head swaps, although I've missed where the red bodies come from originally.

Some nice colour schemes you've selected and painted. And at crash speed.

They're from the Battlemasters game, same as the knights. They were a good source for cheap plastic Empire, O&G en Chaos minis in the early 90's.

Yep you missed it & Yep W.K. is right  lol
I bought them on here to be test pieces. Before I abuse the MB Battle Masters game .
The box set will give quite a nice core of figures for a second force which I've a few things put by to bulk it up including a different giant .

I've been a little busy of late and occasionally sidetracked with Battle Masters threads full of interesting interpretations. Which had wondering if I should re think my game plan.
So to motivate me to do more I've started tweaking a Emperor Karl Franz . I've never been keen on the original griffin as it always seemed wooden. As I'd picked up an incomplete version 2 of Franz .( No front legs, Two left wings, and Ironically both hand options.)
I thought it'd be fun to try and add some more movement to the figure.
In a similar fashion to the high elf version. Even though they're two different mediums .I thought it should be possible get it to have some of the movement of the lighter plastic into the bulkier metal regardless of the styling differences.

I love that high elf noble on griffon. Great work and a beautiful green.
