The action on Day 2 at Wintercon - The Battle for Bukhara.

Four armies, the British "Dunster force", Enver's Turks, The Whites & the Red Russians assault the fortress city of Bakhara held by the Emir of Bukhara and his various mercenaries and allies.

The day ended with a reasonably spectacular win for the White Russians who, un-interfered with by their rival Reds, smashed the Bukhari defences and swept into the city forcing the more numerous but poorer quality Bukharis to flee, leaving the White cavalry to seize their prize. The Bukharis even backed by their Turkish allies were not able to stem the tide of the piercing white attacks.

The Turks with their German allies while suffered heavy losses smashed the British, effectively confining them to one corner the battle field outside the fort city. With nearly half the British force including both Armoured Cars destroyed and their aircraft being shot down, linked with to a spectacular win by the turks on day 1 where they sweep the field with their cavalry backed by artillery they earned a well fought second place for the two day mini campaign.

The reds and whites on day two traded blows but both armies only suffered minor loss.

This was a great event with many members of the public joining in and now wanting to game this great period so it was a success for all involved.

I had the pleasure of playing in one of the smaller games on the Saturday. An amazing setup with masses of nicely painted figures and a ton of terrain. A great group of guys to boot who are very accommodating. It's the second time now I've managed to lead a valiant cavalry charge both of which I will fondly remember.
