US Patrol Boats for Cruel Seas
« on: July 24, 2019, 12:14:41 PM »
Hello, here is the hopefully a start of my Cruel Seas fleet - two American Patrol Boats for the Pacific: 80′ Elco Boat (camo) and  78-foot Higgins (navy gray).
80' Elco was captained by John Kennedy! They were available as a freebie in Wargames Illustrated. I added Flames of War 1/100 Allied star, as I've seen these recognition signs on archival pictures.

I don't think I can find a Japanese (or any) opponent in my FLGS, but it looks like these 1/300 boats are interesting hobby project, so I'll most likely pick up more US naval. Cruel Seas isn't terribly popular.  :)

A bit more pictures and explanation are on my blog if anyone is interested:

There were US PT boats in both the English Channel/North Sea & in the Mediterranean so you don't have to restrict yourself to the Japanese as historical opponents. That said, the lack of any opponents might be a problem...
