Found the platoon org for 5RAR’s recce platoon in 1966/1967.

PHQ of 1x Officer,1x platoon Sgt, 2x Signallers (PRC-25 sets), 1x forward scout and one medic (6 all ranks)

3x patrols each of five men. 1x patrol commander, 1x forward scout, 1 x signaller (PRC-25) 1 machine gunner (M60) and one patrol medic.

Patrol members were given a choice of personal weapons, either SLR or M16 and in addition one M-79 was carried by each of the three patrols. Of the two radios in PHQ, one was for direct communication with the patrols, the other on the battalion net.
