Woodpecker on a mountain peak
« on: June 28, 2009, 09:29:54 AM »
Hi all,
you've all heard the old story of someone putting off something until some sort of bird (I think a woodpecker would be prefect) tapping away at a mountain peak manages to erode the whole thing away.
Well, that's how I see myself and my lead mountain. I'm certain Mt Vanvlak is not the biggest one around, but with my schedule and my ADD-like way of working on it, this will take forever, and when you're 42 forever is not all that far away. At my current rate of modeling I'll be done when I'm 647, give or take a year. And I don't think my hand will be all that steady then....

So here's the proposal. One model a week. More if possible, but let's not be ambitious - if I aim for 5 and feel bad, I'll give it up. So target: 1 a week.

Yesterday after posting the final pic for the LPL I completed a tiny WH40K Predator tank - in Epic scale. That will count as last week's. Pics later.
This week? Dunno, but I should clear the 4 or 5 half-finished LPL projects which I played about with.

Hah, I hear you!

I've been contemplating painting for oh so long over the last year. It's just not happening. I'm there with you now, one miniature a week!

I'll see what I can come up with, I'm starting Monday, Pacific Time. Let the painting begin!

Grazie SanGennaru.  :)

A pic of the lead mountain (or part of):

And its guardian:

And some views of an overcrowded showcase:

Well, so far so good - I finished off 2 long-started models - an Epic Rhino with Thudd gun and an Imperial knight; and I've started another pair.
Pics on demand only so as not to over-clutter the place.

That a really cool project Vanvlak. I started a similar one this month. My goal is to paint 100 minis per month (roughly 3 per day). So far I managed to do it, 87 figures done on the 29th.

I can see a problem though. If I keep up to this pace, I will run out of figures to paint before long…  lol
A CANADIAN local hobby store with a small selection of historical wargames miniatures (mainly from Warlords). They also have a great selection of paint and hobby accessories from Vallejo, Army painter, AK Interactive, Green Stuff World and more.; https://www.kingdomtitans.ca/us/

100 a month! Owwww! You'd just take eight years to clear out my pile. GIve or take a few months....

Meanwhile - I finished off another two models (one of which just needed a light touch to his blade) - so all in all, 1 yesterday and 4 today. Not bad - by my standards.....

Going through my lead mountain I've picked a reaper conan-type warrior to paint this week. We'll see how that goes, I may even jump start and try him this evening instead of Monday.
