We are very pleased to continue our expansion of the Spanish and Italians in our later fourteenth Century range of 15s, with the Italian “elmetti” or fully armoured cavalry lancers, which can also be used of course for Neapolitan feudal knights. They are available here:

These were the elite warriors of the condottieri armies that rose to prominence in this period. Every effort has been made to capture the  appearance of Italian fully armoured cavalry. These figurines can also be used for Eastern European armies such as Hungarians and Serbians, who wore a mixture of German and Italian harness.

In addition to the normal four horse selections for each code, we’ve added a fifth for the Italians — the beautiful neo-classical horse armour which appears to have been made mostly of leather. We have also released a sprue of plumes for the helmets of the elmetti, as these seem to have been worn in battle in Italy more than in Western or Central Europe.
