Looks like a good amount of scatter on the table. Do you randomize it in some way, or just plop it down until it feels right?

I've found that randomizing terrain typically provides some challenges that I don't get if I "set the scene." I play solo, so this is one of the ways I keep things "honest" in terms of gameplay. No stacking one side of the table, and the randomized distribution creates both cluttered and empty places on the map. It can also result in some weird scenarios like deploying next to the objective and leaving the table without ever firing a shot. I mean, that has to happen sometimes too, right!? lol

I just plopped most of it down, my wife added a few bits and we rolled for table edge. It is not necessarily a “fairly balanced table” but we liked the look of it.

For solo play I can see random table set up being a good idea.

This project is stunning.  Love the table one page back.  Great collection.

Cool editions. The stained glass golem is particularly inspired. That is such a great idea.

Well I'll be, there aren't very many folks who got their rewards from that old Troll Forge Kickstarter - even if you got yours through ebay.

I couldn't bring myself to put the Goliath Worm together as a stock model, because I'm just like that.

I've got a gallery page of many of the other models from that project, albeit with rather dated paint jobs.  Still have some unpainted Alien Host stuff around, I should probably do something about that one of these days.

Rich, you are the one that let me know what I had gotten my hands on. I much prefer your version of it.

Ah, my memory is failing in my old age, apparently.

It appears Impact Miniatures is still trying to complete fulfillment on the (ancient) Kickstarter, which is impressively persistent if nothing else.  I'm sure he'd like to finish so he can put the figs up for sale and start earning some money from them for all the work he's done since he took over responsibility for the project.  Think there were still ~200 people waiting for their figs at that point.

The oldest Kickstarter that I'm waiting on was supposed to be delivered in June of 2018  lol. I still get periodic updates and such. At this point, I don't even remember what I ordered and I'm too lazy to go look it up.  :? If I get it, I get it. If not, there is precious little I can do about it now.

Love the roads, Rick. You said those were prints?

Yeah, they were 3d printed on request by a company here in Germany called Resin Engine. They are from the Printable Scenery Hagglethorn Hollow Kickstarter. We have a lot more on the way now.

Great stuff, buddy!

I like the roads' look, but i just wonder if they'll look good in action. Their raised nature, rather than being recessed or sunk into the terrain - an admitted impossibility - might bug me a bit if I was using them. But then there ain't a perfect solution for modular roads that I can see. I do like these.

The MDF base looks pretty good. To my eye, just as good as the DF forest floors. Hope you guys allowed a little bit of room for a circular 25 mm base to drop into so it is not too tight!  :D

Scatter terrain looks good. Had a tough time spotting the critters. Is that a butterfly on the shroom in the middle?

How was Spiele? Did you guys spend your son's college fund?  lol

Hope you guys are doing well!

Hey mate, thanks for he kind words. We are doing well.

We will have to see how the roads do in games but we are optimistic.

The scatter terrain base had the holes made just a touch too big on purpose as we have learned a lesson from previously purchased sabot bases being too tight. The critter on the mushroom is a grub of some sort.

Spiele was alright, I will write about it a bit in my next blog post but we certainly did not spend as much money as we planned. There were a lot less stalls with a lot less products available for sale. Discounts were not that good either in general although Playmats.eu gave us a good deal.

I hope all is well with you and your folks!
