TTCombat (part of Troll Trader in the UK) is running a really fun Kickstarter right now you guys might want to check out:

It covers egyptian undead, desert halflings, and egyptian elves with gorgon things.  TTCombat is a well known company that has succesfully delivered on similarly sized KS projects several times now.  I tried to resist backing this one, but I'm a sucker for Egyptian undead, and never did get that Tomb Kings army that 16 year old me wanted...

Well, I'm not backing because of past crowdfunding debacles (Hey there, Assimilation: Alien Host!) but I'll keep an eye out for the figs when they release.  Some interesting monsters, especially for Dustgrave or adding variety to War Gods of Aegyptus forces.  Interesting to see Rumbleslam, Erewhon and Carnevale crossover figs. 

I particularly like the hydra, that cobra-inspired look is very nice and not one I've seen before.  The cacti men are also cute, although the pedant in me insists that true cacti aren't found natively in Egypt.  Still, "euphorbia man" really doesn't have the same ring.  There's a lot of stuff that's clearly aimed at Tomb Kings players who are pining for more figures that GW will probably never deign to sell them.  I do wonder where the halflings found such tiny, tiny camels though.  Elaborate breeding program, maybe.

I hear you on the pain of past projects, but the risks associated with backing Kickstarters depend largely on the company running the campaign. You can never entirely eliminate risk, but TTCombat is a large-ish business with several successful campaigns delivered. I'd rank them as pretty low risk on actually delivering. It will likely deliver late like all campaigns, but I'm pretty confident I'll eventually get my stuff.

I've been burned/disappointed enough that I truly swore off crowdfunding, Alien Host was just the final straw.  I'm sure TTC is fine, but I'm sticking to my oath.  Not like they need my dime anyway, that is massively over funding already.

I can see you point about elf dino riders (rather than, say, cold ones) though.  Has me wondering what other figs I could mix-and-match with - some guy on Facebook had 15mm Demonworld Dark Elves mounted on Scale Creep thoats earlier, very nice fit.

You can toss out the baby with the bathwater, but I hope others do their research before deciding.
