Too true.  Be careful Golgotha, someone might get you a figure to match you.

Gosh I wish I had a miniature, no a few miniatures, one for each period and scale etc., that looked like me...  lol

You'll have to send me a picture (5 minutes at Colours is not
enough to imprint your image on my feeble brain) and I'll look
through the Lead Mountain. Oh, don't forget to choose a period,
at least for the first one. lol

A friend had an MDF two story building, but just a big hole between
ground & first floors. He asked me to make a lift, or stairs.
I opted for lift, not because I thought it easier (it turned out not to be)
but a lift would allow access to a basement.

This is the mark one (well actually mark three, but I didn't even bother
photographing 1 & 2, just scrapped them)

I had been happy with that, but when I put the building together
I had two problems.
1) I had not measured as accurately as I thought. The roof would
not go on. The lift was about 3mm too tall! It was taken down
    by 5mm.    THEN
2) Looking at it I realized my belief that the lift (in imagination)
would move up & down would have the 'Health & Safety' guys
having the screaming hab-dabs as there was nothing to stop
people falling down the hole! :o

Some more ammendments & we now have the finished version.

It might have taken a few tries but the final product looks great.

Thanks Syrinx. I phoned the owner to ask if I could drop it off to him tomorrow
(that is now today). His wife said he was in the shower & she would get him to
phone me when he got out.
That was over twelve hours ago  :o. Still no call. Must still be in the shower. lol lol lol
I hope, when he gets to see it he likes it.

Great stuff HB. Despite the challenges, it has come out great. Your thread is verging on venerable as it approaches 100 pages. :D

Thank you Codsticker for that  kind comment, but I would feel like the Actor who finally got an
Oscar, simply because (unlike most of his generation) he hadn't died yet.
 lol lol lol

Thank you Rumacara. Have you played with the buildings I sent you yet?
If you have/when you do, any chance of some pictures? I would like to see
them in a game.

Believe me it is not that difficult.
1) Paint kilt your chosen base colour. Don't go for really dark.
2) Paint a contrasting horizontal coloured line a)around the hem
                                                                  b)just below the belt &
                                                                  c) between the other two.
If your base colour is quite light you can do this with Gel/fine felt-tip pens.
3) Add on a few vertical lines in the same colour as in '2)'
4) Using a white Gel pen add lines between those done in '2)' & '3)'
5) To show off do similar with a black fine-liner pen (or sharpened 2b pencil)
6)When it is all dry (overnight) spray varnish on it to protect it from handling.

Job done. I do them in batches of 6 to 12 & it doesn't take long.

Hummm!!!
Will have to try that tip. I painted one simple tartan to a pict warrior but only with a base color and then some lines in another one. Used dark green as the base and then desert yellow for the lines and it isnt bad. Now i just have to complicate it a bit more. lol
