WW2, fall of France. You've just got to have your roads clogged
with French refugees. These have SNAFUed many of my French
(& British) battle plans.

Cars came from a bargain box at a die-cast toy fair. Cost me 50p each.
I thought they might do for 20mm, as they were too small for 28mm.
They were a bit rough, but a lick of paint & some stowage added & we were away.
The refugees, if anyone is interested, come from:-
Sgt.s mess, irregular (Russian peasants mainly) & a variety of model railway companies.
I randomise their movement along the roads by rolling a dice (usually D6) taking
that many 'clumps' from the back of the queue & moving them to the front.
When we played a 'fall of France' game at the school club, it gave me an opportunity
to explain 'War Crimes' to some impatient tank crews, when they asked to 'hurry them
along' with some HMG fire.

Thanks.

For refugees, I've used the peasant figures from Colonel Bill's Russian Panje carts and others from Westwind (IIRC). I had a link for 3D printed files of various cars but I didn't save it and now can't find it. Some of them were damaged, so were perfect for roadside wrecks etc.

Having had a think about the cars a vague, very vague, memory was they were
originally from a range of 'Dick Tracy' (in support of the dire film) toys.

Today, for your delectation, we have... 6mm Napoleonics!
Two club members (many years ago) came back from C.O.W. (Conference On Wargaming)
enthused with 6mm. One wanted to do WW2 & the other Napoleonics. The Napoleonics got
further than the WW2, but, despite, initial enthusiasm from the club, the 'organiser' seemed
to lose his enthusiasm. Hence I only have French with a few Italians. Ah well maybe someday
I will get back to it & do some opposition, & some rules, & some scenery, &....

If that it what they are, you got a real bargain. Just checked Ebay and they go for big bucks.

The state they were in I don't think they would have achieved 'big bucks'.
As they now are they have achieved some table time, & it is frustrating to
have them block the road.

Today some Napoleonic Naval. Castings from Tumbling Dice. The rocks were
off-cuts of blue foam, which were left over after making some 'trenches'
for a friend.

Fall Of France cars and refugees look great! Why have I never seen those?
Those 6mm are impressive en masse. What's the base sizes?
I am going to build a wargames army, a big beautiful wargames army, and Mexico is going to pay for it.

2019 Painting Challenge :
figures bought: 500+
figures painted: 57
9 vehicles painted
4 terrain pieces scratchbuilt

You haven't seen them because we haven't done a lot of 'Fall of France'
(Not enough gaming hours to play all the things I can do, never mind
the things I want to)
Yes 6mm look great 'En Masse' which is what we all thought when we started.
Flatpack still has his Austrians, I think. The bases are 60mm x 40mm. The idea was
that if everyone did a 'box-file' worth we could play fantastic games. Never happened.

Flatpack has British, I think.
Yes I remember the refugees clogging roads a couple of years ago, when we played a fall of France game.

You 'think' ????
Can't you ask yourself & be certain?
You could be right, I think your Austrians are 25mm (Mini-fig/Hinchcliffe)
