With January, & its target, over (well almost over) my thoughts have turned to
February's target. As it is a short month (any excuse) I am giving myself an
easier target. Some years back I picked up a unit of Garrison Persians. younger
members may need to be told that they are/were? one of the best figure makers
'back in the day'. 25mm but chunky.  There is a reasonable paint job on them,
but they will need removing from their (not very good) basing strips. I will be
basing them on pennies & using them for skirmish games (with or with-out
sabot bases). I already have about 8 Hoplites (with no opposition) so this will
be a 'Win, Win' scenario. Another something off the 'To do' pile & another thing
I can play with on the table. If the re-basing (& a little bit of repair/tart up) is
completed quickly, I may also paint up a few Greek archers, slingers or javlinmen.
See other threads on LAF about the quest for a suitable skirmish set of rules to
be used. I will be quite happy to use Fistful of Lead.
I might even get around to a Greek farm.

Re-basing done!  Not brilliant, but functional wargames standard.
Now if I could only find those light troops (Archers, slingers etc.).

Just basing the above, though achieving my February target, left me wanting more, so...

Thanks to a kind soul, who donated several boxes of WH40K stuff to our School club,
I tidied up & painted two crashed ships.

And I added some more Alien plants, as well as some 'spawn' (Always useful as a
bio-hazard in games).

Oh and a few bits of fence for my WW2 Russian Village. The bits had been sitting in
the Village box for nearly 5 years!

And a bit more.
Trying to use up some of my (many) boxes of interesting bits,
an Alien shrine & a cluster of fuel tanks.

This all looks great! Exotic flora, rustic fences, revolting alien spawn (you don't want to accidentally step in that stuff!).

I like the temple and the fuel storage too.  What is the story behind the lion on the side of the fuel tank?

I cut bits out of newspapers magazines & catalogues. Then use them as posters,
graffiti, even carpets drying on roofs. It is cheap, I like that price.

Looks very effective! I wondered whether the side of the tanks was just general advertising space sold to the highest bidder (in this case a zoo, or a new Lion King movie perhaps), or whether that paeticular tank contained "Lion Juice" rocket propellant, or some such...

Hey, I just make the stuff. I have no idea what it is/does.
half the fun of it not being definitely one thing, is that it
can be different things in different games.

Into March, and the monthly challenge continues.
First up some bits kindly donated to the school wargames club.
Duly repaired, tarted up & based.

Conjectural APC from WW1. I read somewhere of surplus tanks being used as
armoured supply vehicles. To get men & supplies up to the front line.
This is my take on that idea.
