Rounding off February some more bits.
First, curtesy of a child's playset, 28mm Sandbags & 15mm Army tents.

Second, rocks (always useful & suite various scales)
first three pictures are from a tub of stones that I have been
meaning to use for... well a looooong time. The last two are
plastic & from that child's playset.

Third, a crashed chopper for a friend. He wants it for a 'Drugs bust gone wrong' scenario.

And finally for February an Adobe.
It was a resin kit bought cheaply off the internet.
Now assembled, painted & based.

Next thing is what to do for March.

Glad it went down well Ian!
But who caused it to crash?
Was it Bill or was it Ben, who shot it down just then?
(neither it was Digits with an RPG).

A lot of the cheap plastic rocks tend to paint up extremely well, I've done several myself where they tend to not require that much work.

Yes, but problems with the plastic ones are:-
removing mould lines,
If you have a cluster(what is the collective noun for rocks?) they are all the same,
They may very well flex & then paint flakes off,
As they are light they may move on the table.

I find ones from the garden are all individual, heavier & even cheaper.

Only mould lines on the ones that I've worked with are around the edges where they'd be against the base for the terrain.

That's fortunate, I presume jelly type moulding. The two I did had the cast line right across the top!?!
Took a steady hand & a sharp knife to remove. I don't have that problem with real rocks.  My trouble
tends to be looking in the garden for the 'interestingly shaped' stones. On a nice warm day I can be
out there for hours.  The wife thinks I'm clearing weeds.

Most of them in the kids sets are basically just a stamped mould, it's normally when you go for the bigger playset pieces that you hit the mould lines because they're rather simple to make. I'm not even sure if they're injection moulded or something more like a vacuum formed method

Working on a speed-boat from the same kids set I guess.
Waterline, well actually so low in the water that I've had to
build it up.  Will possibly do service in a drugs bust game.
