Some...well I'm not quite sure what to call them. Any ideas?
I think that they are blind, but all the little bobbles are hordes
of tiny parasites who guide the 'beast' and swarm out to attack
when there is anything that might be food.

In amongst some Sci-Fi figures I purchased off e-bay,
ere these. They were damaged. One missing a head &
all three were without arms. None were based & existing
paintwork needed repair.

Those flying things with the parasitic infestation are truly disgusting.

Thanks, I think.
They were cheap too.
Basic body = Peach stones
Wings = spare after I converted some Poundland Dragons into Sci-Fi large herbivores
Parasitic Infection= contents of one of those little packets that keep moisture out of things
                              sprinkled over some left over glue from another job
The stand = Old screws taken out of a broken cupboard
The Base = Bits of card that were pushed out of advertising boards & would have been
                  thrown out, but a friend saved them for me.
Filler on the bases=surplus, as I mixed too much for another job.
Paint = Similar, poured out too much. I thinned each colour down & gave...'Them'
            a series of washes.

They are also scale agnostic. Could even go head to head with spaceships. :D

Working on a cottage & barn for 1745.
Early, VERY early, work. Hacking the basic shape out of Blue Foam.

More  pictures as progress happens.

Next progress shots.
571 = Starting the detailing
572 = Barn door
573 = Drawing on the stone, a VERY slow process. First wall.
574 =Second wall
575 = Third wall
576 = Stonework detail around the barn door
577/8 = The shutters go up.

Have to put it to one side for a day or two as the glue *I've used to hold the Blue Foam
together is taking an age to set.

* Hard as nails, because it doesn't react with the foam.

As an aside, following on from some enjoyable DBA games with Vodkafan,
and after the failure of Viet-Nam to take off as our second '60 in six' project,
we have decided to do a new DBA army each. He has chosen Huns, while I
have decided to go all Goth (No not the white face & black accessories).

For those who don't remember, it has been a while, '60 in Six' is a challenge
to do 60 figures in six weeks. It worked very well for Jacobites, yet (for various
reasons) fell flat when we tried Viet-Nam.
If we count mounted figures as two, & remember to do camp/camp followers
we should hit the 60 target.
Bonus will be two new DBA armies to play with & some figures off the lead mountain. :D

Look forward to seeing your Goths and DBA game - pity not the "...the white face & black accessories kind".

Like the rustic cottage building that will look cracking and very useful for a number of settings.

Thanks Gol-GOTH-a  lol

More progress on the buildings.
A lot of filling of gaps, the penalty of having to use off-cuts & not nice big bits.
Then trying to make some bits look like rickety woodwork & the roofs like tatty thatch.

Some Humans for the school club.
To easily I.D. the two squads I went for bold colours, light blue & red.
Red Squad are the, 'Mankind Amalgamated' Chapter.
Blue Squad are the, 'Urbanite' Chapter.
Keeping both squads in order is the (Fleet Authority) Judge.

A quick paint job on them, consisting of a mixture of dry-brushing
& thin washes. Good enough for a school fun game.

To encourage the use of figures by the school club's D&D crowd,
I let them choose a figure from a box of figures I brought in.
I asked for:- Favorite colour(s), Character's name & anything else they wanted.
Tomorrow they should see them painted & based.

583 & 4 = 'Bob, Oxal & Robat'
604 & 5 = 'Zane, Elasylrk & Columbus'

...and the rest.

606 & 7 = Yorred, Johnny & Azzy
608 & 9 = Belathon & Tagareth

Azzy was the most work. Requested were:-
A small bag, two (D&D specific weapons that seemed to be something like a Zulu assagai),
messy hair, oh & a tail like a fox.

610 is a close up of 'Robat'

I hope they all like their figure, and that at least some of them are encouraged to start
painting their own figures. We do run some painting sessions for those that are interested.
