Roadside Picnic

Reading Roadside Picnic by the Strugatsky brothers.  The book Tartovsky’s film Stalker is based on. Very good, loads of atmosphere. Actually set in Canada rather than Russia.

I have loved (and still do) the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. video game franchise (hoping to game it on the tabletop some day and waiting for the release of Zona Alpha for that), and recently saw a very interesting documentary on the filming of Andrei Tarkovsky's Stalker movie (and what ordeal that apparently was), but I never actually read the original.

Thanks for bringing it to my attention (again); I will put it on my to-get list now... :)
