Caunter camouflage pattern?
« on: September 10, 2019, 10:53:13 AM »
Hopefully our tankie experts can help me out here a tad. What are the best Vallejo paint colours to make a good fist of this scheme please?

They actually do a set of paints for this. Its not a bad starting point. But a little dark for my taste.

I wrote a post about this on my blog at http://mojobob.blogspot.com/2019/05/painting-caunter-with-vallejo-colours.html

Basically, I use these:
  • VMA Portland Stone (71.288)
  • Silver Grey: A 50/50 mix of VMC 844 Stone Grey and VMC 886 Grey Green
  • Slate Grey: VMC 830 German Field Grey

Thanks Fitz, nice painting and good to have the paint numbers.

I did some tanks in caunter a few years ago, but now have some more to do (when i can steel myself to do it), so good to be able to pick some paints, rather than try to match my old work, where I got the Portland stone far too dark.

Perhaps because your throw away remark was negative and added nothing to the thread?
Just a guess
