unfortunatly for wargamers like me that prefer to stage on tabletop only historical events , the Ethiopian army never employed any true AFV. They had at their disposal one or maybe even 2 tanks given as gift by us Italians before the escalation to war...but, in the best tradition of African satraps they were keep in the Royal Palace barracks for fear to have them fallen in the hands of other Ras ...Hailé Selassié was loved by his Hamara lords and people but had a lot of ennemies in the rest of his large empire....
anyway i have to find among my files a small battle map and a report of actual use of "armoured" Ford trucks armed with Oerlikon MG/cannons that, in the Somalian front, countered the advancing Italian motorised columns supported by Lancia Armoured Cars...in the subsequent action i remenber to have read that a pair of Egyptian officers and a Belgian advisor were captured..the last one being immediatly released by Italians..so we can say that we had a sort of armoured skirmish even in Ethiopia 1935
