Do you have a project in mind for these guys?

I say it again, brilliant stuff! I love what you’ve done with that sniper team.

Not really, just liked the Willie Apiata figure so got the SAS blokes to go with. Last lot were just because I wanted something to paint, and they went with the others.
I had a go at a rough camo on one of the rifles, I think I prefer it to the factory fresh look so may have to go and splodge some sand tones on the other weapons.
I'll probably add the prone GPMG team at some point, as it looks too cool not to. See if I can remember how I painted the Paras, as every time I try a multicam'ish look it comes out compleatly different.

@ Ultravanillasmurf & Sparrow: Cheers chaps.  Out of things to paint again, until the new Nam Aussies arrive...

Had a go at redo on the bloke with the dodgy'est trousers

Still a bit dodgy, but a good practice

I think they are some of your best figures TBH.  :-*

Looking forward to the finished chaps, especially the SLR with wooden stock. None of this plastic rubbish lol

thanks very much.
Weapons still just sporting a layer of primer. I think little black squggles on the DPM next, then finish off the webbing...

Dug out what remains of my old kit (something tells me I'll never get into the trousers again), different shades of green on everything.

Looking good Ash. If there's one camouflage pattern that varies unbelievably it's DPM. The 70s stuff was very green compared to later patterns (I've been watching reruns of The Professionals!) As we've been wearing MTP for the last 10 years, I was shocked at how dark 95 pattern stuff was in comparison when I dragged some out of the shed for research. I've still got a couple of old windproofs that are more the classic 80s DPM colours we all know.

I rediscovered a set of 68 pattern; jacket & trousers (I don't recall ever being so svelte), a set of windproofs which feel like they are made from gaberdene, plus a couple of Norwegian army shirts ( which were the first choice of the discerning gent in '89). Never had any 95 pattern kit, but can't imagine it was as well constructed as the older stuff. I got hold of a pair of the first pattern MTP trousers about 10 years ago, needed something lightweight and fast drying for hiking; absolutely shredded them, don't recall what they were made off, but not built to last.

The nearest I can describe 95 pattern is a bit like tropicals but very dark, why they didn't just put windproofs and tropical trousers on issue instead of inventing 95s is beyond me, it's what everyone wore (the cool kids anyway lol) The first pattern MTP stuff was just 95s in MTP, so not hard wearing but the shirts were really good. The less said about the current PCS MTP the better. I remember having 68 pattern when I first joined up, virtually indestructible but like a sponge when it rained and stayed wet for a week.
