You've done a better job with the morion than I could! I may use some greenstuff to lengthen the hem of the leine, alright. However, from the limited pictorial evidence, the flouncy leine appears to be going out of fashion by the 1690s, so I may not do anything too radical. This theory suits my limited greenstuff skills and lack of time for major conversions. I may invest in some of those Portugese to mix things up a bit!

Forgot to mention the Dixon Flodden range is also worth a look, particularly the highlanders. This chap might work.

That's a very nice job on the morion Eoin.

There is some textual evidence too that leine fashion was changing but I doubt it was happening everywhere at the same time so a mix is fine I think.

Yes, I agree. A mix of clothing is probably the most appropriate. I'll certainly be using some of the Perry Kern (and possible Eureka Portugese) with some of my kit-bashed plastic figures to fill out the ranks for variety. I'll have to work hard to reach Eoin's standards of Morion fitting ;)

I received mt Eureka Miniatures Portugese yesterday and oh my, they are very very nice. It was difficult to take a file and clippers to them, but It has to be done!

This first example had an existing shirt jacket and short trousers so I decided to sculpt the piping onto the one unrolled sleeve. I also added a small tassle to the end of the scabbard.

Looking good, the tassle on the scabbard is a nice bit of detail.

They are very nice figures. Nice work with the green stuff too. Do you know if they fit well with the Perry figures?

Thanks for the comments. I am very new to using putty/greenstuff so it is all a bit trial and error.

These models are very compatible with the Perry Irish both size and proportion wise.

The Arquebuses are actually similar in size also, except for the curved stock on some.

Thanks, I appreciate the kindness.

They are not exactly as I had hoped! Determined to improve on the rest I am currently working on.

Converting helmets and hair are easy, as are small cosmetic details. The Aketons however are proving to be a problem. They cover such a large area of the minis that my limited skill shows!

I've found out the hard way that with green stuff it's best to use less, you can always add more if you need to.  Also sometimes it's worth filing down bits of your figure that will impede what you want the green stuff to do.  It's all a learning process but don't be discouraged you will get better every time.

I started out with Milliput which has the advantage that you can file it once it hardens.  On balance though I find green stuff easier.

Greetings all.

I have finished converting my existing batch of Eureka Portugese into Irish pike and shot.

I have also included pics of all the New Line Design picts I have converted to Irish Horse.
