Pistols are a really nice set of figures and love the dark clothes which stand out so well because of the paint job.  The hyena people are something so different and really stand out

Can't fault either entry, and can't remember who I voted for on Sunday - It could be different today and then again tomorrow as these are both good

That is an amazing scene Matt. Great depth and composition, and beautifully painted hyenas (yes, I know, they're probably gnolls or something, but I like them as hyenas - looking after their bosses, the lions, who clearly own the pride-lands beyond the bridge  lol)

That is also an amazing scene, Steve, with a lovely subdued palette and a very evocative Gothic Horror vibe.
I particularly like the gent on the left with his cane over his shoulder. Where's he from? (Or is he one of you conversions?)

I’m trying really hard not to comment on match ups that I’m in until after voting has closed, but as it’s you Richard....  :D

He’s a slight conversion (added pistol) of an Artizan Old West mini

Amazing work on both entries, I never vote because I don't like to judge especially when people paint better than I do!  Can I ask what are the buildings please ?

Mine are assemblies of OSHIROmodelterrain kits. There’s a project thread here...

Oh please do vote, that is the whole idea :)
I think it’s fine to appreciate other people’s handiwork, even if it’s not something you could achieve yourself.
This is indeed the entire basis for TV talent shows from Strictly to The Voice lol

I decided not to vote last year as I was participating, and it didn't sit right with me to vote as well. But I lasted about a week before I started voting. I mean, candidates get to vote in their own elections, so why not?

You could always vote in secret, but continue to publicly maintain that you aren't voting. Nobody will ever know.   :)

Great scene SI, I like the subdued colors and the little burst of bright red color on the ne'er-do-well's neck.

Gnolls and hyenas always did strike me as being a low rung on the ladder ;)

Thanks Dr M, though I have to admit that the flash of red being positioned as it is was just a happy accident  :D

Yours is an excellent composition. Well done.  8)

Indeed, excellent scenes. I guess I ultimately manage to imagine a bit more story around the gnolls. Raiders or guards? Well, opinions may differ. lol The balance between random gear and unifying bits like the primitive teeth pattern is also worth noting.

However, I can always appreciate proper Victorian action too. Those palettes can be surprisingly difficult to get right. Here everything is nicely tied together - slightly gloomy yet not dull. The team looks very playable too.

Thanks Dolmot and congrats Dr M.

It won’t be obvious to anyone else but my first 3 LPL entries were consecutive scenes from a story. 😁
