I went through the thread and your blog.

Absolutely lovely work. I like it so much in fact that I would love to imitate that green.
What's your recipe?

Thanks for the kind feedback, greatly appreciated!

The recipe varies over time, but the general concept is to start with forest green (originally it was Ral Partha's Forest Green, now I'm using Vallejo Model Color Deep Green) and highlight up by adding white (and not yellow). I originally just added small amounts of white to the forest green and all the way up to a light highlight. However, I have since started using Reaper Miniatures Masters Series Jade Green as an intermediate. So, deep green, then one part each of Jade and Deep green, then jade green, then adding some white to jade green and done.

Hope that helps!
Thanks

I know I’m late to the party, but that really looks like a lot of fun.  I played some of the base game with the kids back in the day, but, despite both of them growing up to be miniatures gamers, we never ended up painting any of the figures.  I should ask them whether they’d be interested in a group project …

Sounds like a fantastic plan to me :) I hope it comes together for you!

Beautiful work! I really like how the metal turned out on the cannon, although both units look great.

Great job on the archers!

If you look at the unpainted, something like half their face is missing and/or their eyes are off. (Or maybe that's the crossbowmen.)

Hated painting those, but, at least pre-Oathmark, I had a hard time finding archers and crossbowmen in bulk!

Picked up eight copies at Kay-Bee's (anyone remember them) for $10 each. Sold off one, got rid of another, still have the rest!

Stunning painting, really great stuff
PLease paint the beastmen!
I need inspiration, I have the mono-pose ones from Warhammer and I'm sure I'll be able to steal ideas
