I think zippyfusenet thinks you've been cheating on him if you know the song.  Anne Murray's best but kind of a sad song.  Wonderful tune.  As to the figures, well they look great but wrong dang size!   :o

The title of Anne Murray's Greatest Hit is "Little Snowbird". I thought it apropos for a Canadian winter theme, but it clearly was too far a fetch. Death is easy, comedy is hard.

Spoken like a trooper of the circuit.

This thread inspired me to find out more about Muskets and Tomahawks consequently I'll certainly be buying a copy of the second edition.

You should have gone for The Forest Rangers. I can't be alone in remembering that....

I've only played one game of M&T, up in Scotland with the League of Gentlemen Wargamers.

That said, it was quite a game, played on a reasonably large table (representing the northern 'shoreline' of one of the Great Lakes - can't remember which), played over a reasonable length of time (two whole days), and with six or seven players a side. I enjoyed it very much - it was a great, fun game - and I immediately put M&T, plus figures for it, on my must do shopping list. Then, when I looked into it, M&T was out of print!

So I'm all ears, and look forward to M&T2's publication.

M&T is my favorite Black Powder-era ruleset - which my group plays in 15mm (for grand-tactical AWI & ACW, using a modified unit/ground-scale), and in 28mm FIW, AWI, and ACW skirmishing.

A few pics from a buddy's FIW gaming setup -

Coincidentally, I've been contributing to Andrew Wilson's recent winter-campaign FIW Kickstarters, so timely that Northstar is launching some of these winter-attired figs for the period also.

Nick, a couple questions -

How might your new FIW figs size up with AW Miniatures?

Will M&T II still use the card activation mechanic, or have they transitioned to another sequencing?

I've not seen the AW figures. Mike Owen is making the M&T II range, so if you've some Artizan Design figures, you'll know the size of them.

I'm sure it's the card activation still, but not 100% sure.

ACW M&T!!!!   I've been using the set for AWI since the beginning, and love it.  Hope to see the melee rules simplified in the 2nd edition.
But I generally thought the set could not be adapted to ACW, as it relies on the multiplicity of troop types in the 1750-1815 period.
Something that doesn't exist in ACW.
I really would like to see what they do with the period, as other ACW skirmish sets (yes, even BaB) seem
bland or lack any period flavor.

And besides, my book is falling apart....

Thanks Nick and Mark - going to compare them to my WW2 Artizans and see what they look like.

Pan Marek, I've written like 3-4 responses (over on that other forum) to you, on how I converted M&T to the ACW!  o_o

This is excellent news. Muskets and Tomahawks is an excellent ruleset.
