I'd have this as my terrain if the wife didn't keep me in check:

Just to note that when you had post this I had already started working on this piece but i didn't have pictures yet to post now I do. So it's the inside of a volcano so far, working on the rest. It's an idea that I have had, haunting me for some time  ;D I don't know how big, but the picture you posted might come a little close to what I have in mind but I am sure the wife will say no not no but hell NO!.  lol  lol This piece will become taller with a lava fall and a couple of pools of lava as well plus all the paths, trails and natural bridges to get to the three entrances you can see in the photos. I thought is would be best to start with the top as to not make it to small of a gaming area.

Have have a place for sacrifice for my other gams too Pulp, fantasy, and Pirates

This might be a fair size piece when all is done.

Nice work WM,
I like it.
Looks like an arena also.

Here's an idea which i used for my lava towers which i think you could use for that. Get some crayons in orange, red & yellow , shave them or break them up into little pieces then mix them up with resin to create lava streams.
It might work with white glue also.

I took a whack at trying something using Polymer Clay, so with a handful of fender washers and some clay and a great imagination here is what I came up with, the figure is a GZG figure.

There are more individual pictures on my blog if you wish http://silo1313.blogspot.com/search/label/Sculpting

I am looking forward to painting them up and coating them this week will post more soon!  :D

Doug, I can’t wait to see this project develop!  Wow!  Looks like it belongs in Pellucidar.

Great updates all around. I love the walls in the volcano. That is going to look really good once finished. Your patience for chopping up cardboard is to be commended! lol

The clay plants look fantastic too. Those will be great set decoration once painted up in some wild colors.

Beautiful updates and WIP pieces all the way around. As Dan said, I'll be swiping some of those ideas for sure!

Making some serious strides with the terrain! As Andrew says you must have a lot of patience for this sort of thing  lol

Really like the layout too, even in this basic state it looks good!

Thank You, to all of you, I surly appreciate the comments.

Worked on the volcano some more today. Then I read an article in science magazine! That almost sounded like it came from the Sy-Fy Channel "Sharkcanos"! No joke it was about sharks that can live in and around underwater volcanoes!

So I can use this for underwater  VSF/Steampunk  games!

I will continue to work an all of these until they are finish and will be adding updates as I go.

Working on some greens for Saharamanji. I haven't worked with Green Stuff until this pass couple of weeks so bare in mind I'm a noob at this so here we go.

Surmanji Dragons

Sand Sifter

Ant Lion

Turheep

Scavenger Grub

Desert Lubber

Butt Face Worm

Obnoxious Cucumber

Manji Adler

Giant Desert Centipede

Well this is just a start of what's more to come! I find doing this is very relaxing. These are all mounted on washers for storage. the smaller ones are on 1/4 inch washers and the larger ones are on 3/4 inch fender washers.

Thanks for looking.

I have detailed descriptions of each creature on my blog  https://silo1313.blogspot.com/search/label/Saharamanji

Those are great names... names are usually invented
By common people who more often than not use vulgar language. ;)
