Nice! I like the engine sections. What did you use to make the sloped edges? shipping labels? Tape? I always forget that I can use shipping labels to soften some hard edges.

That is a LOT of chopping up little bits of card. Good job, man!

I just covered them with typing paper and glue, it is some pain staking work but the results are very nice, it is what took up most of my time this week so far, it will also make for a good base for the card stock to stick to as well.

Yes it is a very lot of chopping up card bits.

My game room is being use for storage at the moment while we remodel some of the other rooms, so I am not able to get to my regular tools which are buried in the back of the room. So I had to use what I could find in our desk draws, which was 4 tools, a mechanical pencil, steel ruler, tweezers and a big old box cutter! I did use a hole punch and a circle template a couple of times other then that, just a few jewelry jump rings.
Just remember "If the Enemy is in range, so are YOU!

Your tools list is basically what I use for 90% of everything I do lol.

The jewelry rings are a good idea. I could see a lot of use for those. I have some small plastic rings that I use which serve a similar purpose, but the rings I have are maybe 10-12mm? I should look for some smaller nylon washers, Those would be useful.

To see how the shipping labels can be used, check out the Malcy Bogaten Strikes Back blog. You can see the shipping labels used throughout to cover up everything from dominoes to jenga blocks, and they look pretty stellar! https://malcybogaten.blogspot.com/2017/07/preparations-of-various-builds.html

I suspect that it would save a bit of time on your method, just by them sticking down by themselves, without the glue? Depending on how you go about it, they make relatively interesting panel lines by themselves. Very subtle things that get picked up by dry brushing.

Check out any Bead Shop where they have loose beads, they will also have lots of findings and charms stuff too, many of them can be used for other needs many of the barrel findings can be used for shipping barrels, fantasy vases for plants, some could be used as cactus or other small plants too. You can find very fine chains too for having around in the shipping hold or to strap down cargo.  :D

Shipping labels could work well, I'll have to look into those. Thanks

Okay so I had some time to work on this Project, so I worked on the rear of the engines, and here's a look at them

Left Engine.

Right Engine.

Over all so far.

Some Grill work waiting to be framed out.

More is really needed but I feel I have done the hardest part so far and the rest should move along much faster now.

He used to post around here. I bet you can look up his old threads. He is pretty prolific when he is creating, but things seem to have slowed a bit lately. Glad you liked it. I have a laundry list of blogs I check in on because of the inspiration I get.

Agree here and other blogs is where I get a lot of ideas, I used to hangout over at TMP but way too much hokey pokey between members there for me.

Oooooo, I'm also pretty excited to see it. I tend to go around and run some black wash around surface features to help them stand out, but I'm thinking that might not be plausible for you! lol

Thanks, I have to paint it up "New" then dirty it down, I'm thinking a brown wash might do the trick, still have some more painting to do.
