Thanks….makes up for the mediocre job on these Gorillas…….been sat on  desk for a bit but I’ve rushed them in the end…..not overly happy but they are playable at least.   I may return to them at a later point.

Heaven help you if PETA ever views this thread.

Don’t look at me…….it’s Gol that keeps eating everything!

Zebra was a clean shot anyway!

Oh, and Aventine produce a dead African elephant……I will HAVE to get one of those!

Quick paint job on the crocs

And a little expedition shot……coming out into the clearing.

Found another mule in my bits box (makes sense as there are two in the box!)….I will turn that into a another zebra.

Cheers fella.    Looking to try and get in a game in a few weeks time with an old mate.

I’ve ordered the Congo rule set……and twenty five Copplestone Ngoni.

Not sure yet just how many figures I need but hoping I have enough for a game.

Just a small matter of painting a tribe and a zoo full of animals now…..

Cheers Doug.

Just cleaning up a few animals (I think the moulds may have had their day on a few) and made another zebra….alive this time!

Cheers…..that’s how my projects roll……I have an initial enthusiasm….do a bit…walk away for a few years….then plough all in for as long as the mojo holds out…..

Anyway….minis arrived for the wildlife.   My fingers hurt with all the flashing truth be told.

Africa’s Big Five in the foreground plus a few hyenas, cheetahs, ostrich, warthogs etc

The oryx are proving a real bugger to do……the sodding ears keep coming off.  I lost one so have to gs a new one, but I’m struggling so they can wait.

In time, I want a small herd of mixed zebra, gazelle and wildebeest….but funds are exhausted right now.

So been thinking on what I need going forward.

In no particular order

Some new scenic pieces, especially as a good number of these animals won’t b3 found in the forest!

These will include-
Elephant grass bases (non jungle pieces basically)
Termite mounds
Acacia / Baobab trees
A river (I REALLY need a bloody river!)
A waterfall
A waterhole
Rock escarpments
Tribal village / huts (maybe two different types for different settings)
Dug out canoes
Village cattle herd
Villagers
A lost temple

I will need at least another tribe after the Ngoni, but not sure which way to go…..but the Masai have a place in my heart / history so I probably have to do them…….but I love the idea of the “Hehe” because they sound funny….but they won’t look overly dissimilar to the Ngoni…….a bit to think about here.

Zebra herd (as above)

Build the Zambezi Speak Easy / Trading Station

Make a hot air balloon

Finish the paddle steamer

Buy more armed Askari

Maybe do a small detachment of British soldiers

Crap….I’d best stop there before I over phase myself! Lol

Anyway, I suppose I need to do a bit of painting…..

A hugely impressive undertaking. I'm particularly looking forward to seeing the terrain.

Don’t put that on me mate! Lol

To be fair I want to emulate some of the great work already done on this forum.  I’m inspired by work in Diablo Jon’s thread, particularly his elephant grass…..but I need to figure out the materials he’s using, particularly the ground cover he uses around the bottom of the bases.  I pm’d him but…..
