Thanks everyone! Another Rohan update coming soon, but for now I have a small interlude, two Giantbloods from Frostgrave. I painted these up to match my dark age forces with the idea that they can be Bipedal Creatures for SAGA Age of Magic. That gives me another option for demo games, just adding a spellcaster and these two to the dark age collection and making a fantasy force.

Tufts are my now standard Serious Play scenics, absolutely love their diorama tufts when working with larger bases.

Size comparison with Victrix:

I think these lads are just about 40mm, so I am quite tempted to get a 40mm viking or two from V&V and see how they go together.

Great job on those figures! I like their style and your painting really suits them.

Thank you!

Found another spot of hobby time today to wrap up the basing on the last seven riders. One more figure in the queue for rohan and then I'll be posting shots of the whole army.

And with the Footsore Aethelflaed mini that may join them in game:

They look really good, mate. I'm loving your not-Rohan army. Also, I'm envious of your productivity. You're a painting machine.

And here we go, the final mini completed. When I dropped that leg and ended up with seven instead of eight riders I had a look around for alternatives and found Stronghold Terrain's Mathilde of Tuscany miniature. While the sculpt is very nice, the original mini has a very medieval Europe headscarf, so I swapped the head out for my favourite head from Frostgrave Wizards II. I've used if a bunch of times before but fortunately I had a spare one. Strong shieldmaid vibes if I may say so.

and with her, the muster of Rohan is complete for now. I need to do some objectives, baggage and paint up some of my terrain, but the minis are done and the force is playable. Now I just need to find some Norman dice for SAGA....

Here's the full force. 56 cavalry and 24 infantry, 80 minis painted since May.

That is very impressive! It has been great seeing each of the units as it was added and the completed army looks amazing.

And now for something completely different. Kickstarter is a funny thing, and I really do understand why some companies rely on it. Normally when seeing a nice mini or range that gets filed under things I may get in the future, when the right project comes up, but with kickstarter somehow you jump straight into all in pledges just in case the right project comes up later and you need those minis. Either way, I was enticed by Midlam's recent city watch kickstarter and those minis were delivered in a timely fashion and arrived a few weeks ago. I painted them up in a scheme inspired by some artwork of the Waterdeep City Watch from Forgotten Realms. May end up using these for some DnD encounters, no real plan otherwise. Feels good to get on of those spontaneous purchases painted rather then just placed on the pile.

Those are nice,  I just finished mine too (sorry no pictures yet)  But I was really pleasantly surprised at these miniatures and they were fun to paint.  I already went in on their next one too(monks and INN people) looking forward to the next ones

Thank you!

Making good progress on the lead pile, first two bits of Rohan terrain got finished as well. Once I picked them up and painted it's a very quick paint scheme. Decided to base these as I had some very nice XL diorama tufts from Serious Play that begged to be used.

Those turned out great! I like the colours and highlights on the wood- it looks weathered, but solid.

You are on a roll with this project. Really nice stuff. I'm looking forward to seeing the whole lot (scenery, Riders and all) in one shot ;)

Did you get anywhere with the longhouses you converted up?
