Wow as ever to your talents.

Wonder when the tarrasque will come to retail at North Star

Thank you!

No idea really, but Archon Studio strikes me as a very efficient outfit. Almost done with a kickstarter that was due for this coming June. Breath of fresh air compares to most companies.

While trying to just finish some of all the random things lying around, I managed to do some work on the Rohan stronghold terrain that I posted previously.

First, the watchtowers got a touch of Geek gaming scenics base ready to liven up their bases and match them to another project.

The stables got the same treatment:

And finally I worked up the courage to spread static grass absolutely everywhere and finish the farmhouse:

Though looking at it, it may need a touch of pale drybrush to take the green down a bit.

I really like the products I have tried from Geek Gaming. Their glues and sealant spray are nice and easy to work with compared to the old PVA, and the base mixes look really excellent.

Nicely done  8)

I agree about drybrushing the turf roof. Maybe a couple of darker tones here and there would help as well as the lighter?
cheers

Oh nice. I'd be tempted to put a figure on a ride-on mower on that roof.  :)

Well, look at that, time for another project. Had a notion the other day to start another Middle Earth themed SAGA-force, and as much as I like orcs, I like low fantasy and humans even more. I was reminded of the hillmen of Rhudaur from watching a fellow play a Lotr themed Total War mod, and felt that they would make an excellent project.

There's also this art piece from Bannerlord which I have long felt looks exactly like what you would get from sticking Victrix viking heads on some Frostgrave barbarians.

So that's the look I wanted to go for. I've also decided to use quite a lot of Oathmark orc bodies and bits, as they have weapons and armour that will match the look I want. The plan is to build a Pict force for SAGA, so I need a fair amount of shooters, some regular melee warriors, some foot hearthguard and I might want the option of hearthguard (armoured lads) on horses and armed with javelins.

So, after digging around the bit box and lead pile, this is what I have assembled so far:

I like that idea a lot. I think the kitbashes you have put together so far are very promising- they’ll be great for hill folk, bandits and any other type of “irregular” fighters you need.

Thank you! The bannerlord art always inspires me, that low fantasy early medieval vibe is bang on my prefered genre to work with.

After running five demo games of Rangers of Shadowdeep at a convention yesterday, I still somehow managed to have the energy to sort out a few more Rhudaur Hearthguard. So six Oathmark orc kitbashes, with some Victrix and Frostgrave heads, arms and weapons are either oathmark orc or Frostgrave barbarian, plus a GW darkoath (i.e the new Chaos Marauders) sword. Two sets of arms instead come from Fireforge's resin Varangian Guard. Decided to swap out the Victrix style weapons for something slightly more fantasy, to match the two Hasslefree metall figures I pulled from the pile of shame and added to the unit. The larger fellow had a very small head (typical Hasslefree), so got a frostgrave one instead.

What do you think?
