Let's get even more horses up in here. I received the new Victrix norman light cavalry last week and just finished bashing them into more Riders of Rohan.

Those certainly look the part, well done kitbashes! I haven’t tried building any of the Victrix cavalry kits yet (I have some Persian cavalry but that project is on hold for a bit). Yours and some of the others I have seen on LAF look excellent and are great inspiration. The kits seem more versatile than I would have guessed.

They are great, though not as easy to kitbash as say Oathmark/Frostgrave, as some figures have arms cut at elbow and others at the shoulder. There are so many spare hands and arms though that it's easy to build what you want by cutting and mixing. Same thing with heads, while some figures have integral heads with just a modular helmet, but with some work (and a cloak to cover the gap) you can very often change heads even on these.

Hm, I guess I never posted the painted Norman-based lighter Riders. Probably because the picture isn't great, but let's have it here for completeness anyway.

And what I came to post are these dismounted Knights of the Mark with their Lord (Hearthguard and Warlord in SAGA terms). Mostly built because I had spare armoured Late Romans, but I could potentially try out the more infantry-based Visigoths in SAGA.

Great paintjobs. The metals look especially good as do the bases.

Thanks fellas. Basing on these, as all my recent projects, relies heavily on Geek Gaming Scenics Base Ready. The Rohan army uses the Fields of New Zeeland mix with some dry grass tufts for details. Such as quick and easy way to make good looking bases.

And what may or may not be the final addition to this collection, some warriors on foot. I've been wanting to have the option, but didn't really fancy another set of Victrix unarmoured late romans, so I ended up going with 3D prints from Medbury Miniatures. A mix of his Carolingians, Vendels and Shieldmaidens. Some small swaps with Victrix bits, a couple of heads and hands for variation.

Bit of a break from the Rohirrim as I have returned to the original project for this thread. I picked up a pack of GW's Faramir and friends on sale a while back, plus I've been getting some new basing products that I wanted to try. Built these up with the idea that they can be bow-armed heroes for my Lords of the Wild.

They also got some sabot bases, I've used flock from Krautcover, then some bits and pigments from Green stuff world, plus the same tufts and leaves as the original figures.

Here's what they look like on the sabots:
