Absolutely agree with you on being accomodating. I realise I forgot to add that I have plenty of heavy cavalry for Oathmark, and these will now come in handy as Warriors (lightly armoured) in SAGA. With these and the 3D printed models I posted earlier I have the option of javelin or no javelin for my Rohan warriors.

Ah, I see! That makes sense. They’ll make a great addition to a Rohan themed army in whichever game system they’re used in - they’re quite nice!

And here we are, the first Knights of the Mark are painted. In SAGA you have three basic troop types: hearthguard, warriors and levy. Depending on the faction you have just a few different equipment options for each. For hearthguard we are usually just talking heavy weapons, javelins and horses. As I am planning to be able to play both historical and fantastical factions I am making hearthguard with the option for both javelin and no javelin.

I've also taken shots from the back so you can see how my greenstuff work held up:

They look fantastic. The green stuff work came out really well, and as you say, they'll be perfectly usable for a very wide range of factions.

Are you planning on heading to any European Saga events in the future?

No travel plans at the moment no. Have a 6 month old at home, so a little restricted. I am considering the tournament in Malmö late July.

And here we have the two characters painted. In SAGA terms, it's a Warlord on his large base, and a Champion, the hero that the Horde can field in Age of Magic. The Champion is a purely fighting hero, and I feel the miniature matches that in appearance. The big tufts are from Serious Play UK, first time using them and really like them.

As far as fluff goes, I have very little settled. The Warlord is not intended to be Theoden, but could perhaps be a Lord of the Westfold or something similar. The Champion is his most loyal retainer, but whispers abound of sinister parentage, that he is a Dunlending or worse.

They look brilliant mate. Really nice tones on the green and white especially. Would love to see some game photos with them.

Some more progress on this. I was able to batch paint all 24 archer levies and get them done quite quickly. Pretty happy with these, even though they are quick and dirty paint jobs. Victrix models are always great fun to paint as they have great detail that takes washes well. I also love painting green, so that helped.

As I mentioned before, these I imagine as militia called on as a last resort to defend their homes. There are profesional and semi-profesional warriors in Rohan, but these are not it. They are old men who can still draw a bow and brave women who probably lack training in war. To that end I painted most of the male figures with gray or graying hair. The female figures are wearing dresses so you can clearly see a difference in attire from the Shieldmaidens who ride to war.

Some closeups of minis I really like:

A look at Oathmark heads on Victrix bodies:

A couple of good examples of what the Dark Age archer kit provides:

And possibly my favourite in the group, almost entirely built from the Dacian kit:

Those look great, very nice work on them! I think the Oathmark heads worked pretty well on the Victrix bodies. The female archers turned out quite well, too. Are some of them Fireforge peasants and some others by Brother Vinnie? In any case, the whole unit blends together and looks cohesive.

They're fantastic. I can't help but notice you've mixed the same Victrix Dacians/Dark Ages archers, Fireforge peasant rabble and Stronghold Terrain shieldmaidens as I've been thinking of picking up for my Saga archers. How did you find the Stronghold stuff compared scale-wise?
