looking good as usual (although I would add some dark metallic at the edges of the rust, I think. but that is a personal thing)... reminds me that I have quite a few of these sitting in boxes. I always liked their appearance, but don't really know what to do with them as i won't play aos anytime soon.

More of a hobby project for me as well. AoS is right out. There have been a couple of people at the club playing Age of Fantasy by One Page Rules. It seems to have options for most of this, so might be good. Equipment and unit numbers don't quite work for Saga Age of Magic, but I could probably make something for that too.

Right, next guy finished. Love this model and the take on a Mad Max style face mask. Seems quite suicidal to ride a big troll though. Used a few of the new Army Painter fanatic paints, and a mix of traditional painting and speed paints. I tend to work from white primer and use a lot of washes so easy to mix speed paints into my style. I use them to tint and shade more than to just paint surfaces.

What do you think?

Love the troll. I really like the contrast with the rusty orange metal and the almost aqua blue of the troll skin.

It's been sitting half finished on a shelf for near on two years, but I finally picked up and finished my Rohan great hall. You can see the build earlier somewhere in this thread. It's really just a couple kits worth of the GW Rohan house smashed together.

And while I was at it I also built the final house from that Rohan stronghold box. Once I have this painted I will get a group photo of my Rohan village.

Nice work on the great hall. Always feels good to finish a project that has been hanging on.

You've got to love a terrain kitbash.

Happily I managed to put paint on the final farmhouse without first needing a two year break. With that the Rohan stronghold box is finished. I took some new snaps of all the houses I have, though lighting could have been better.

The smaller farmhouse, the blacksmith and the stables all have accessible interiors, while the great hall and the L-shaped farmhouse are closed.

Those all look excellent! I am quite impressed with the variety that you were able to create from the base kit.

Thank you! it is quite a well designed kit, built to be very modular. There are a lot of good ideas out there on what you can make with it.
