Lovely paint jobs and I particularly like the color choices.  The avatar's a rather strange sculpt even by Mythos standards, but doesn't weird me out as much as the cultists.  Being well armed is great but seriously, heels?  Sensible shoes, ladies.  Sensible shoes for a firefight.  :)

To be fair, hanging around with the avatar makes the yellow seem quite a bit less noticeable, at least by comparison.  Besides, maybe the poor thing has bad eyesight (does it even have eyes?) and obvious color-coding is important for making sure you don't get devoured along with the investigators.

Oh, who am I kidding?  The cultists are going to be devoured eventually too.  The heels just make it easier to catch them when it's time.  :)

At least they're not wearing combat bikinis.  Can't see their midriffs at all.

Soon I will be playing the second mission, so time to paint the monsters needed.

5 Ghouls - "The madness and monstrosity lay in the figures in the foreground- for Pickman's morbid art was pre-eminently one of demoniac portraiture. These figures were seldom completely human, but often approached humanity in varying degree. Most of the bodies, while roughly bipedal, had a forward slumping, and a vaguely canine cast. The texture of the majority was a kind of unpleasant rubberiness."
H.P. Lovecraft, Pickman's Model

Chthonian - "Flowing tentacles and pulpy gray-black, elongated sack of a body...no distinguishing features at all other than the reaching, groping tentacles. Or was there—yes—a lump in the upper body of the thing...a container of sorts for the brain, basal ganglia, or whichever diseased organ governed this horror's loathsome life!"
Brian Lumley , The Burrowers Beneath

The ghoul is lovely...if a ghoul can be lovely. Superb painting!

Lovely paint jobs as always, especially the ghouls.  Pickman would approve, no doubt.

Not sold on the Cthonian sculpt personally.  Too H.R. Geiger and not enough worm-kraken-from-Hell for my tastes, Lumley's description notwithstanding.  Still nicely detailed and looks good in that color scheme, but more a Generic Unpleasant Thing than a Cthonian to me.

Absolutely maddening how many Mythos critters get described as being basically black, or shades of black, isn't it?  :)

Deep Ones - "The Deep Ones are an ocean-dwelling race, as evidenced by their name, with an affinity for mating with humans. They entered a contract with the people of Innsmouth to keep the fish plentiful in their area. They also seem to have a supply of gold artifacts of unearthly design. The Deep Ones worship Father Dagon and his consort Mother Hydra
H.P. Lovecraft, The Shadow Over Innsmouth

Ghouls should sue ^__^

Nice painting on the DEEP SEVEN, but I am not sold on the sculpt. It reminds me of the things from The Matrix.

Nice painting on the Deep Ones, interesting sculpt concept - very different from other Deep One miniatures. I certainly do not recommend violating The Benthic Treaty if that lot are going to turn up to complain.

Hunting Horror - “And hoary Nodens raised a howl of triumph when Nyarlathotep, close on his quarry, stopped baffled by a glare that seared his formless hunting-horrors to grey dust.”
