Help for the idle wargamer...
« on: December 09, 2019, 01:09:39 PM »
I'm away from my books all this week which has given me a tiny problem. I want a generic like points system to form a Viking and a Saxon Warband for a FFofL game, where might I find summat like on t'internet?
Kind of...

Archer in leather jerkin
Crossbowman  in leather jerkin
Warrior with no armour, just a shield and sword
Warrior with leather jerkin, sword and shield
Warrior with full mail, sword and Shield
Chieftain
Points upgrade for axe, spear and two handed axe/sword

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as this week's going to be manic, with no time to float off to our happy place!

::)

If you just want to build generic forces balanced against each other you may as well look at the original (and best):

http://users.skynet.be/jormungander/Mordheim/guide/MhGeneral.html

Pick your GP level and spend away, the character costs are in the "Warbands" section and the weapons and armour in "Equipment"!

I've personally never found the need for a points system for FfoL. If you wanted very evenly matched sides could you not just do :

Leader
Specialist
Ranged fighter
Melee fighter
3 x levy

Or something similar for both sides?

Harry! Shame on you. We (Fistful of Lead) don't do points systems...
Just build your troops and have it!

The old Chainmail (the great granddaddy of D & D and Warhammer systems) used an armor system like that.
