Midway Aircraft Paint Schemes
« on: December 23, 2019, 04:52:23 PM »
Hello all.  I am primarily a medieval and ECW gamer with little research experience on more modern conflicts.  I have recently been interested in the Battle of Midway though and am creating a simple set of rules for it.  I am painting up some 1/600 aircraft and had a question.  Did all of the Zeros have the same paint scheme at Midway?  Did all of the Kates and Vals look alike too?  I have seen some really interesting schemes that I was hoping to paint for this but not sure if it is accurate or not.

Thanks  -  Allen

Got to be honest, I’ve bought exactly the same scale figures in the past, but struggled with paint schemes. Any help appreciated.

Yes!  I posted on TMP as well which often seems to reach a different audience....

Thanks for the help!  It looks like at the scale I am painting they are all almost the same as each other within aircraft type.   Most of the interesting camo patterns must come later in the war or be another branch of service.
