A 36 page Christmas gazette from my blog
« on: December 25, 2019, 06:22:12 AM »
The Gazette has 36 crammed pages for some merriment and wargaming distraction.

All kinds of articles and a bit of fun thrown in –

Thanks to everyone who supports the Battlefields & Warrior blog

Thanks for putting together Norm - had a quick flick through while waiting for family to arrive.

Can you give some more details about the LED lights you use?

Comments on blogs - I think there are a few things going on here, partly they are seen as webpages, which you can’t normally comment on, secondly there are so many different platforms in can be a pain to register on all of them, especially if the comment is just going to be ‘nice work’ or something similar, it often seems easier to comment on a forum thread.

I think with blog posts I’d regard their success rather more like webpages, so just tracking visits.

Thanks.

The LED lights shown are;

1) (on the right) The Manfrotto 8 cell Lumie. This has quite big LED’s in it with lenses on each to direct the light. It has 3 power settings and internal battery. I bought a diffuser set and have one fitted to the front for the demo shown, I’m pretty sure this is putting out light Fixed at 5600 k (Daylight). From memory, it came with a fixed cold foot, though I have the ball mounted cold foot, which I am sure I bought separately.

2) (on the left) This is A Phottix M180, an interesting device that is also a power bank, so you can charge phones etc off it. One side has a bank of LEDS (180 of them) and has an adjustable range of 3200k (clearly yellow warm cast) through to 5600k (daylight). The power is also adjustable in increments of from 5% to 100%. As you increase this percentage, a display shows how many hours / minutes of batter charge remains.

Both are powerful lights, ideal for close shooting and mid range shooting as the strength of light can be adjusted. Both seem to give respectable light performance on a single charge.
