Where is Professor Bartowitsch?
« on: July 21, 2009, 06:20:06 PM »
Prologue:
Dr. Bones had managed to escape Thule´s henchmen and had made her way to the Zeppelin. The flight took her to the polar region around Iceland, where she was dropped by parachute on a remote island. A German vessel had picked her up and brought her to another island that was never to be found on any map. Professor Bartowitsch was suspected to be there, but Thule knew it better: The island hosted one of some secret entrances to the inner earth. If Bartowitsch had really made it there, he was now in what parascientists call "Hollow Earth". Thule had their own interest to get hold of him, because he had not finished the work on the Haunebu flying disc yet. The KSK-Kraftstrahlkanone raygun was only a mockup for aerodynamic research on the flying saucer.
Dr. Thule himself had urged his henchmen to take care of the case. Their objective was to seek and arrest Dr. Cindy-Anna Bones for further interrogation, but she was allowed to be killed, if that would not be evitable.

The Germans who brought Dr. Bones have landed:

And so have the Thule henchmen on the opposite of the island...

...right in front of the cave that hides the secret entrance to the hollow earth.

The Thule Gauleiter Sven Johanson orders his men to seek the female scientist.

The Germans and the American relic hunter swarm out as well. They try to find Professor Bartowitsch and do neither know about the Thule presence, nor about the entrance yet.

The cave forms a tunnel that goes right through the rock. Jorn Gustafson pulls the trigger of his Tommygun when Bootsmann Jens Jansen comes in sight.

The German replies the firing, but is hit first.

He falls and dies instantly on the nameless island far away from his fatherland.

His comrades are alarmed by the hammering noise of submachinegun fire. They reach high ground to get an impression of what is going on.

Tonje Malstrom is hiding behind a tree and aims thoroughly at the German sailor (top right in the picture).

But Dr. Bones has him in sight. He fires at the sailor and she fires at him.
He misses, she hits. His dead body rolls down the rockside and lies dead in the rubble.

Ole Snornbrand climbs up the hill to take his revenge for the dead companion.

But private Jim Pansen is watchful now and pumps round after round of lead into him.
The Norwegian dies at the same spot as his fellow and also rolls down the hill.

Meanwhile on top of the cliff: PFC Hans Hansen fusileers the Thule Gauleiter from above.
That makes Jorn Gustafson run, who has thought about how to destroy the entrance to hollow earth.

He is quick aboard the Haunebu and off he flies...

Although his attempt to destroy the entrance has been noticed by Hansen.
The Germans and the pretty American take a closer look, driven by curiosity.

They finally find the entrance and suspect Professor Bartowitsch somewhere ahead.
They do not know yet about the unbelieveable secret that lies before them, but they are brave enough to face it and move on without hesitation.

Thanks, I always use Blood & Swash by Buck Surdu for skirmish size games of any period.

I love the rust on the boat. Well painted figures, too.

Excellent game, and the painted on detail of that coat! Woah, I could not do that, not in a million years with my tremoring hands.
