BUF Legion (British Civil War)
« on: July 16, 2009, 04:40:44 PM »
BUF Legionnairies for my BCW game - a mix of Musketeer & Anglian Miniatures (SCW assaultos).

Might do some more irregular looking ones to reresent local militia, once i've finished a platoon of these guys.

Excellent paint job and lovely figures too.  They really capture the genre.

Nice work... I'll echo the comment from elsewhere that the armbands provide a good contrast to the plain uniform.  :)

Thanks guys.

Was really pleased with how the assaultos fitted in with the musketeer minis (helps that they were sculpted by Paul Hicks as well) - have got another couple of dozen on the paint table....

...and before anyone starts banging on about symbols, i'd like to go on record to say that the armband is quite clearly an "s", that stands for shock troops....

 :)

You're safe there... just don't anyone go for abbreviating 'shock soldiers' on their armbands  ;)

Some painted minis - some you've seen previously, but also a bunch of new recruits.

More Officers (a mix of Empress, Great War, and Artizan)

Lewis Gunners (Artizan and Musketeer)

NCOs (Musketeer, Empress, and Artizan with GB head swops)

Full Battalion

Tanks - Pzrs Is from Empress

CV Tankette from Empress

Cadet Battalion - Mosley Youth (Perry's Mafeking boy scouts)

Cadet Command (Musketeer, and Foundry)

General and Cameraman (Artizan and BAM)

I'll do some militia at some point, which will obviously be less uniformed, in nature!

It's like a rule or something, that the bad guys have to be the best dressed, otherwise nobody would be on their side. You'll find it's a historical constant.  :D

I needed a few more pieces to finish off my company for the big game this weekend at Gripping Beasts':

Needless to say, painting everything black means its pretty quick to do!

 lol

Bombers (Empress)

Despatch Riders (Foundry & BAM German with a GB Head swop)
