Cheers!

To finish this force, I have 6 crossbow sergeants on the paint tray now.  Plus 9 more foot knights, 6 sergeants with spear, and about a dozen pilgrims.   I have NO idea what that means in terms of points and now it looks like I want to buy the second edition, having never played the first! lol

Eventually I WILL do some sergeants of Ibelin, along with a mounted Balian….plus a few knights of Jerusalem, and a small handful of Templars (just ordered them with my Islamic order).

Nicely done David.
I always fancied doing a few Knights of St Lazarus.
They were knights who had to leave their orders due to contracting leprosy.
Lots of interesting modelling to be had  there.

Indeed.  Footsore do a couple of them…one with a nicely contorted face.

Cheers all.

In the middle of painting a small batch of sergeants, I got distracted and painted the first of my pilgrims.  The guy in foot having picked up a fallen knights shield.  I have about 15 or so pilgrims and and I like the look of a few Perry minis too so may expand them…after all, the hospitallers do need someone to protect!  I want another wagon or two….and Andy Hobday has suggested in response to my posting, that he may get a few other crew/ guards made up to swap about on the them….that would be cool.  At some poin5 I will no doubt pick up a sprue or three of Wargames Atlantic sergeants ( will definitely plump for a box of mounted ones) and could I suppose fashion a guard or two from them.

Anyway, distracted enough, back to painting….

Well painted on your latest figures.
Really like your black on your knights.
I find that black for me is hard to get right.

Me too…but I started to use Corvus black from GW as it’s a very flat black and it’s significantly easier these days.   Cheers

If you're having trouble with layering blacks- try the Andrea acrylic Black set- it really is an amazing tool- or at least it was for me.

Thanks for the tip on the black paint.
Went on line a ordered the set from Noble Knight games in the US.
It was $35.00 and $4.95 postage.
I think it is a pretty fair price.
