halftrack passengers
« on: July 28, 2009, 05:07:30 PM »
Say that someone was to produce a USMC halftrack and figures for a squad of passengers.

Would the preference be for the passengers sitting "smokin' and jokin' "  or active firing and watch poses?

Thanks

Sitting smoking and joking, etc. would be nice. They could be used for diorama too. Fighting passengers can be converted from regular figures, no?

While I like smoking and joking figures, I'd say the active figures would be more useful for a wargame.

If you want them for an action scene then the pose you are looking for isn't fighting from but getting out of the halftrack. "Watch" poses are a good compromise, though.

I agree with Dylan. There should be an "Overwatch' most probably on the 50 cal, air observer and the commander scanning and checking his map with the remainder in a semi state of alert, but relaxed.

I was thinking about getting some WW2 vehicles (even though I never wanted to play WW2 ...well there you go; another addiction   ;) )
so I just started to get some minis and vehicles,

I wanted this one
http://shop.warlordgames.co.uk/sdkfz-7-half-track-1752-p.asp

and wondered where I could find suitable passengers for it. Would be nice to have a matching mounted and dismounted set (even though that should be possible with the right paintjob)

The ideal option would to split the casting at waist level. Then 2-3 pair of legs could support a bigger number of both active/passive poses. We see this successfully used with mounted miniatures ie Foundry Hussars (in Mirliton)
