Another WSS Question
« on: January 12, 2020, 08:27:27 PM »
So...

1.) I started my little War of Spanish Succession Project (in 15mm) several years ago.
     And only recently returned to painting. (Hence the previous Bavarian Drummer Question.)
2.) Back when I started there was evidence that Danish horse wore;
     Grey tunics, under a sleeveless buff coat, under a blackened cuirass
     "With a blackened Lobster Pot helmet."
3.) So I bought some 30 Yrs War horse, and began converting them into Danish cavalry.
4.) Now, years later, everything I find the Internet says that by Blenheim the Danish cavalry had dropped the pot helmet,
     and were wearing the tricorne, like just about everyone else.
     Still had the sleeveless buff coat and cuirass though.

Anyone have helpful information on my newest WSS quandary ?

Thanks,
MW

The Danes at this time wore grey coats and didn't wear helmets. They didn't all have cuirass at first but they did eventually. The cuirass could be over or under the coat.

If you are looking for cavalry with cuirass and helmets in this period then you can use them as Bavarian or Austrian cuirassiers (and some Reich armee  & Spanish units).
