Well it will make riding the horses more comfortable.

I'm enjoying this thread, a bit later in the Empire than I usually deal with, so good to see something different.

Hi, can you tell me the manufacturer of your Sassanid command figures or are they conversions? Superb.

Never trust memory!
I mean Khosrow II Parwiz  (Anushravan is the surname of the first Khosrow). This one was active at the time of Maurice and Heraclius. You can name him by the royal headgear and by the late helm model and horsebarding of his guards.

Thank you once again for your kind words and support...

Burnin Coal... That image has Indeed turned out a little on the small side... fortunately all the pictures on the blog are more substantial.

SJWi... The figures are a mixture of Aventine and A&A Miniatures...

Philippe... I bow to your superior knowledge on this one...

I simply picked the prettiest figure from the Aventine Command choices...

He will most likely be playing the part of me in any games... lol

Although I have noticed this rather nice pack...

All the best.   Aly

Greetings...

Gosh it’s been a while since I posted anything about this project...
Running out of suitable bases hasn’t helped....
But that is all sorted now... Hurrah!

I have now added some Sassanid Armoured Spearmen and Command to this collection...
I think I am getting very close to having a game... to be quite honest I have probably got more than I need already... not that you can ever have enough...

http://alystoysoldiers.blogspot.com/2020/08/lion-rampant-sassanid-command.html

I shall probably do a few more Spearmen and a couple more command before I get them on the table...

Of course there will have to be a parade...

All the best.  Aly
