Not sure why you talk about TAG Mounted Crossbow ? The TAG packs I am referring to are Milita Foot Bow which is exactly what I am after.

Ooops my bad. In responding to your post, I was looking through some old comparison pictures I took some time ago. I had one comparing TAG mounted crossbow with Venexia mounted crossbow. I must have simply confused myself. I obviously meant the foot bows. My senility aside, the militia foot bows are early 16th century like the rest of the TAG Italians.

You mention having Perry Spearmen in your post, as they don't make any have you improvised adding shields and spear ? And if so which packs do you think are best.

I use the Perry plastic mercenary foot and convert using polearms and glue on the oval shields.

For italian-style spearmen check out Mirliton. They have some in their historical line, but also do not ignore fantady section - they have lots of ex-Grenadier figures which fit the generic late XV c. look, but also some new sculpts that just scream "Italian militia".

The only new Mirliton 28mm Renaissance sculpts of which I am aware are XVI century Italians--clothing and armor styles from the 1520s and 30s.

Are there any new sculpts for the mid to late 1400s?

Thanks.

There are definitely mini's out there for various theatres of war in the mid 1400's. What war are you looking to do?

The range I was talking about is here:
http://www.mirliton.it/fantasy-25-28mm/humans

And the newer, Italian-style packs which I never saw produced by Grenadier are here:
http://www.mirliton.it/fantasy-25-28mm/humans/city-guard-me062
http://www.mirliton.it/fantasy-25-28mm/humans/hand-gunners-city-guard-me063

Depending on your own ideas of how they looked, the whole range may serve as Swiss or WotR as well.

There's really nothing in there for the mid 14th Century except a couple of miniatures out of all of the packs.

I don't suppose you mean the middle of the 15th Century? If so, then most of them though they are *very* fantasy looking. I think Richard (Captain Blood) has used one or two of the mini's as artillery men(?).

Sorry I wasn't more clear. I was asking Matheo regarding his comment that there were new Mirliton figures for the period under discussion, namely the mid to late 15th century.
