Ok, this time I really AM at a loss for words. The weathering and rusting of that steamer is unbelievable - and don't even get me started on the conversion itself!

Just what your Geezer layout needs next - a nice old Wapping Dockside with freighter...
I already have one: http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=2153.105

The dockside is near the top of the list Geezer-wise.

Shut it!

Top notch! The weathering is well done, and those stairs and the red paint look like they would on a real vessel.

Having typed "Dry Bulk Cargo Vessel" more often in the last two weeks than any sane person should have to do, it is nice to see such a beautiful interpretation of the subject. The "jumboisation" is excellently done, I cannot spot the joint.

What I couldn't get over was the deck paint had that 'years of grime, oil and constant overpainting' look. The whole model is suberb. Don't take this the wrong way, but the figures on the bridge were what gave it away... and they were excellent too. I've seen some outstanding work on this site, but this takes it for me. Well done!

I'll second that. By the way, did you check out this guys (I'm assuming here) blog?

according to Forum Profile it's a girl  :)

Michi, I would like to know, how long did you need to convert and paint that marvellous steamer?

The ship is absolutely stunning. :-* :-* :-*
The detail scratch building work is great and the painting is out of this world.  :o
As shown in one of the photos, against a proper ship, extremely realistic. :-* :-*
What did you use for the grills on the stairway?

At that size it is a game board all on its own.
With this thread and your other recent posts you are a very welcome addition to the forum. You have found your new home. :D

Had a look at your web site :-* More Gorgeous stuff. And I have to agree with this -

I'll second that. By the way, did you check out this guys (I'm assuming here) blog? If you like pretty girls and are struggling when painting fleshtones like me, don't - it'll just ruin your day and make you want to crawl into your bed to sob.

Amazing stuff, I'm having another of those moments when I think that I'm just ruining perfectly good miniatures when there are people who can actually paint  :-I

Marko
Your skin tones on your figures are brilliant. Put the rest of us to shame. :'(
