I wish there was a "Like" button.

Nicely executed!
Yearly painting challenges only show me how useless I am at painting...

Traveller, he looks terrific!

The green foliage appears poured on, and renders a nice effect.

I'm curious about your basing technique - it looks novel to me - are you using a colorized, glue-mixed sand to apply on top of your prepared bases?

Thanks for your comments and interest!

The basing technique is pretty standard

1. Using coins as bases
2. Superglue miniature
3. Apply filler to get an even surface
4. Apply PVA glue and dip in fine grain sand
5. Apply mix of PVA and water to fix the surface
6. Paint and drybrush
7. Apply spots of PVA and dip in green coloured ”sand” (for flower decoration purposes)
8. Repeat point 5. (Creates the ”pouring” effect

A nice thing with 40mm miniatures is that most can be based on basically the same footprint bases (25mm) as 28mm miniatures, ie they do not require much more ground space on the tabletop  ;)

Thanks for explaining - here it is -

I'm not sure I've ever run across green colored sand in fact (I'll keep my eyes wider open for it at our local hobby craft stores).

I bought it at IKEA some years ago, they had, green, black, beige coloured sands or grains, meant to be put in flower pots with plastic flowers I think. Anyway, the effect would be the same with some ordinary sand material just painted green afterwards I would believe. I used this just because I had it...and because I am lazy... ;)

 ;)

The grains give a very appealing, multi-color effect - nice in their texture, along with the color variation (looks wizard).

Continuing with the Continentals, I find the app Snapseed really useful to improve my poor photo skills  ;)
