Well…..I started painting a few civilians, but then I got distracted and painted the technical!   I’m not great with vehicles which is why I usually let Jamie paint them, but I’m ok with this I think.

Maybe when it’s dry I might add a little weathering…

Anyway……first painted mini.

First, an excellent job. As you said (just needs) some weathering. BUT...

surely this is a typo & you meant to say, 'I'm VERY lucky as Jamie usually paints them' lol lol lol

The crowd reflects the ticketing price mate!

As for donkey…I could, but somehow I suspect he won’t live long enough to worry about that many reloads!

I will paint a few more of his fellow warriors tonight.  In sha’Allah!

To be fair the building is a Blotz mdf construction.   I added the stucco and changed a few details like some doors, Windows and hatches.  Adding as air on or two helps too.   You can add small garden details / trees etc to help transform it but all relatively simple changes to lift it a bit I think.

Cheers

I want to try and play through the rules this weekend so here are enough insurgents to do so.

All the insurgents minis I have a re a mix of Empress, Eureka and Spectre.    I don’t have a problem mixing the obvious Afghans with the more modern looking Arabs…..these days, most of the regions “bad guys” seem to be an eclectic mix anyway.   There will be more in time, but I need to paint three or four operators to play test.

Also a couple of vehicles for the background.   At some point these will need number plates and decals for the side of the van.  But for now, just a bit of noise.

David, are you taking bets on which vehicle gets hit with an RPG first? :D

I dare say at some point they will all cop for it! 😇

Anyway, operators…enough to start playing through the rules me thinks.

Thought I might need a few more insurgents, will give me more to fire at!

So, Jihadi Brian and a few more chaps ready for a scrap.  Figures are Empress.

Edit:

Also…I’m starting to think how I can finish this off to a satisfactory level.   I’m thinking I may mount it on a board, then add some front gardens to it.   It needs a canopy above the entrance way, which will in turn support an outdoor dining area perhaps?   Possibly with some kind of pergola to keep it shaded.   I’m thinking of forgetting about the pool as it doesn’t really work.   As I intend to stand this at the rear of a table, I’m not bothering with detailing the rear.   If I felt so inclined in th3 future…I’d be tempted to build an outside pool and maybe tennis court thst could be placed next to it…..but then….this is a Wargames thread….not a dolls house after all…..! 😉

And I’m doing a test patch painting it with Vallejo textured earth as a stucco base…..going to be a right bitch painting around every window set! Lol

Boy, I've only been gone a few days, and I see what I've missed.  Everything looks great.  And if that Toyota is how it looks when you're "not great", I wanna see it when you get great at it... :D

David, would it be easier to mask the windows & use a texture rattle can?
Looking good so far. Any plans for a damaged version?
I mean, it is a BIG target. lol
