Right friends, here's my first Sharp Practice battle report featuring my 28mm collection. We're going back to the April of 1809, right in the early hours of the Vistula campaign as Austrian troops cross into the Duchy of Warsaw to rendez-vous with a spy who has been gathering intel and drew some maps in the past months.

That looks fantastic! Between the great miniatures and scenery it's exactly the sort of thing I am striving towards!

I'm wondering if you have the original Austrian Sharp Practice army lists? I believe those were lost a few years ago and there are quite a few people that have been looking for them!

Thanks very much! I actually used the lists supplied by cpt.shandy. His excellent Austrian force list is in the equally excellent Star of Bravery campaign supplement: https://www.wargamevault.com/product/484292/Star-of-Bravery-1809--Eagles-along-the-Danube

It's a real shame how many dowloads just disappeared in the website crash last year. All the Chain of Command platoon lists are gone as well from the TFL website, and FB group files sections are of no use because for some reason (probably some pop-up blocker) FB won't let me download any files.

For the Duchy of Warsaw troops we just used the French list from the rulebook.

Here's a bunch of force lists by Eltjo Verweij for 1809 which also includes Austrians (and pretty much the same as in Star of Bravery): https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1v0KMcJyddZCfA7XwnofF0gocjXmgZE0StObvAS5yn-s/edit?gid=1553849725#gid=1553849725

Heyhey, not part of my 1809 project, but a commission job. It's Württembergers by Piano Miniatures, all still WIP.

Hope you like them so far. I'll also get to do an officer and a bunch of horse artillery for this batch, and hopefully more in the future!

Thank you so much that is super useful! I hadn't seen the expansions for Sharp Practice before.

And I love the Wurttemburgers. Coincidentally I had the very same models on my painting desk last week (though certainly not as stunning as yours).

Yeah, my friend wrote Star of Bravery and I helped playtesting it. It's specifically made for the 1809 campaign along the Danube, but it can be adapted to fit other campaigns or theatres. And it's got a very clever twist on campaign play, as well as loads of character stuff done between games which goes very well with the SP rules.

My own figures from Piano have arrived now. Just a few cavalry and infantry for research reasons.  ::) I also got expensive but pretty cows. They're not cheap, but pretty figures and since it's just across the border availability is really good.

Wonderful work! Looking forward to seeing more of it. I‘m working on painting my first Bavarians and Tyroleans, also from Piano Wargames and of course also for a 1809 campaign.

@Wrede1809: Very cool; will you put your figures online somewhere? (or photos thereof rather :P )

I think I won‘t dare to show them given the high level of miniature painting displayed here :-)

They are my very first attempt at Napoleonics….

@wrede1809: Oh, okay. Well, it's all just figure painting in the end. Only that Napoleonics usually have a great colour scheme built in. ;)

Here's another picture of them Württembergers:

Hope ye like that as well. Certainly was worth keeping the bloody Sharp Practice stuff on the dinner table for 2 weeks. :D

If it helps, I have reposted and updated the Brunswick stats for 1809, as well as the 1810-14 and 100 Days contingents, in the Sharp Practice forum on the new TFL site, under "Men In Black, Part 1" (see also Part 2 for Peninsula, or Part 3 for Waterloo).
