Thanks all for the nice comments!

All the new 6ish mm shinies over the summer distracted me, but now I am back on track with this project.

Last week I even managed to get a solo playtest game in, using F28 with my own custom army lists.

Since F28 and Warpath are similar enough, I will probably end up stealing some ideas from the latter as well, but more on that later...

This will I've been stuck at home, and a bit under the weather due to catching COVID, but at least i managed to get started on my first 9 houses to speed paint, I firmly intend to spend less than one hour per house from start to finish.

Yep.

Filled with expanding foam, cut and sanded. Then primed first with cheap rust effect, and then some old Army Painter khaki (to give some more texture to the plastic).

Thanks.  You’re not the first person to fill their Amera shells with expanding foam.  I may need to copy you guys.

It is surprisingly effective.

However, if you mount it on a base first, make sure that you have enough "vents" for the foam, or you run the risk of bulging walls as the foam expands.

This time around I just dumped the foam in, and then cut the protruding part (a saw toothed bread knife is really good at this).

The quick and dirty terrain'project is getting somewhere!
Thanks to the magic that is sponging, I've managed to get busy of the first one third of my little village painted in relatively short time, all that remains are some doors (cut from remains of the plastic bases I use for multibases).

So far it seems that all 18 houses will be able to be completed with less than ten hours of working time...

They are looking very good. I like how your sponging technique turned out very nice indeed. Can't wait to see them finished.

Thanks everyone!

Not much progress today, but I did make use of my new photo setup to take a few new pictures of my heavy APC and rifle team.

Khurasan infantry and Clearhorizon Anti-grav APC.

How did you keep the expanding foam from warping the walls, pushing them outwards as it expands?  Thanks

Dan

EDIT
looks like Glasvandrare provides the answer right after that post.
